About Merelyn

Merelyn specialises in drawing highly detailed artworks of animals and wildlife, a published artist in Australia and Overseas.

Merelyn has lived all her life on remote rural farms as have five generations of her family, her love of the animals, creativity and the land has helped her through the hard times.

“ When I was a little girl I remember long visits with my Grandparents on their property at Nyngan. Every night on their back porch huge numbers of large green tree frogs would congregate in the cool, my job was to collect them in a tin and relocate them down the yard but in the morning they were all back again. This gave me a connection and love of all creatures, which is reflected within my art. I have been a practicing artist for over 30years.”

Merelyn’s remarkable ability to capture the smallest details enables her to replicate her images into photographic life-like drawings, which, often can be confused with photographs.

Merelyn has a special interest in Australian Critically Endangered Species, where she donates 15% of all proceeds from her Endangered Series prints and cards to: The Nature Conservancy Australia.
